The Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its Christmas in the Park festivities from 5 p.m. until about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, with a lighted parade in the park and a fireworks show in the rodeo grounds.
City council members Tuesday reviewed possible solutions to the growing stray dog problem which included requiring registration, setting impound fees and converting a building into an animal shelter.
Lights of Love volunteers know how many families they will be aiding with Christmas gifts but they don’t know yet exactly how many toys, coats and other items they will be able to provide.
Ryan Webb said he feels a need to serve his community.
The final results weren’t quite what they were aiming for, but three teams of FFA students from Dawson County schools still finished among the best in the state this past weekend.
