A Lamesa firefighter visits with a local police officer at the scene of a residential fire which was reported about 9:45 p.m. last Friday in the 300 block of N. Ave. M. Heavy smoke was coming from the structure when emergency personnel arrived, but the fire was quickly extinguished with only about 60 gallons of water, according to the fire department’s report. Damage was estimated at $6,000.
City police investigate shooting
Lamesa police are investigating an incident Tuesday evening in which a single gunshot was fired in a local residential neighborhood.
