A Lamesa school board incumbent filed this week to run for re-election in the May 7 elections.Melissa Cazares filed Wednesday in a bid to retain her District 4 spot on the school board, said Bernett Hernandez, superintendent secretary and elections clerk.The District 5 school board position, currently held by Ernest Ogeda, is also on the spring ballot.There’s one slot open on the city council this spring, and two openings on both the hospital district board and the Mesa Underground Water Conservation District board.Candidates have until Feb. 18 to file for any of the positions.Candidates planning to run for the school ...
