Phillips retiring after 29 years as Seminole’s city manager
SEMINOLE – On Feb. 15, 1993, Union native Tommy Phillips began his first day as city manager in Seminole. The Angelo State University graduate had received a call from Tom Adams, who at the time held the position. He asked if Phillips would be interested in moving from Columbus, Texas to Gaines County to take his spot. Fortunately, for the City of Seminole, Phillips seized the opportunity.
Council plans to extend fiber optic services to residences
ANDREWS – The Andrews City Council on Thursday favored pursuing an agreement with an internet company to expand fiber optic services to residences within the city limits presently not served by fiber.

When JoAnna Vasquez and her elderly mother walked into their home after the June 26 storm last year, they found water everywhere. The heavy rains caused the Boys and Girls Club Lake to overflow from across the street into their home and several others on N. Main Street.
