Call it happenstance or just a coincidence, but when Pablo Vasquez found a 2008 Lamesa High School class ring while on the job, he didn’t have to go far to find its owner.
There’s one positive coming out of the mid-February winter storm that shut down schools, caused electrical black outs and froze water pipes.
It is taking his dream job to lure Jerry Jerabek away from his position as principal at Lamesa High School.
Just over half of the residents of Dawson County age 65 and older have now received at least one dose of vaccine for COVID-19.

A long vacant piece of property on the west side of Lamesa’s downtown square could be approved this coming week for possible sale by the Lamesa Economic Development Corporation (LEDC).
It took the Dawson County Commissioners Court fewer than five minutes to handle the one item on their agenda during a special called meeting this past Thursday.
They are to be commended – the “big box” store planners – for the many “edges” they’ve honed to make it to the ladder’s top for in-store shopping.
