There’s one positive coming out of the mid-February winter storm that shut down schools, caused electrical black outs and froze water pipes.

A long vacant piece of property on the west side of Lamesa’s downtown square could be approved this coming week for possible sale by the Lamesa Economic Development Corporation (LEDC).
It took the Dawson County Commissioners Court fewer than five minutes to handle the one item on their agenda during a special called meeting this past Thursday.
They are to be commended – the “big box” store planners – for the many “edges” they’ve honed to make it to the ladder’s top for in-store shopping.
