School finance is juggling act

This time last year I wrote an article pertaining to my responsibilities at Lamesa ISD. My article at that time involved all of the meals we had served, all of the people who had gone above and beyond to keep things operating, keep people fed, keep employees paid with their ongoing benefits, and all of the things that touch school finance that had to keep running despite the school closure and kids learning from home.

Council keeps aquatic center closed; focuses on repairs

BROWNFIELD – In a special meeting, the Brownfield City Council came to the decision to not open the Family Aquatic Center this summer. City Manager Jeff Davis, Parks and Recreation Director Scott Jackson, and Water Director James Nix all recommended to the city council to not open the pool this summer and instead, work on getting it fixed for next year.

Clara Seale celebrates 100 years of life with two parties

SEMINOLE – On June 16, Memorial Place Assisted Living resident Clara Marie Hoenig Seale will celebrate her 100th birthday. The Muenster, Texas native received a family party Sunday in Seminole with a second celebration scheduled at the assisted living facility on her actual birthdate.
