Uncle Mort’s contraptions and inventions usually are “farfetched.” Finally, he’s come up with one that is “near-fetched.” And, it may be of considerable help to those among us who daily dread what used to be a thoughtless and e_ortless routine: putting on socks.
Imagine you and a friend are doing some hiking in the woods when you stop to have lunch. Then while eating you notice a dangerous animal in the distance watching you both. So you say to your friend, “There is something very hungry with sharp teeth who is watching us and slowly heading in this direction. We need to get up and go right now!.” Then what if your friend responds with, “I’m tired and enjoying my lunch. No! You go on and I’ll catch up with you later.”
