SPECIAL EXPERIENCE Youngsters participating in the summer program at the Lamesa Boys and Girls Club were treated last week by Pam Kearney to a visit with her miniature horses and donkeys. “It was an amazing experience for the kids!” said Tammy Clark, executive director of the Boys and Girls Club. “They got to pet, brush and lead them around. Madisyn Ruiz, a recent graduate of Lamesa High School, has received the first-ever Alfredo Morales Sr. Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.

Although only about 40-50 took part in Thursday evening’s CommUNITY Peace Walk, organizer Steven Carden said it was a good start for what he hopes will become a series of events to bring residents of Lamesa together.
