Madisyn Ruiz, a recent graduate of Lamesa High School, has received the first-ever Alfredo Morales Sr. Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. Madisyn is the daughter of Steve and Calli Ruiz. She plans on attending Texas Tech University and majoring in Wildlife Biology. Madisyn was on the varsity volleyball and softball teams all four years of high school. She received numerous individual honors in both sports, including being recognized as Academic All-State in volleyball her senior year.
