Two statewide races are on the ballot for an upcoming Democratic Party primary election runoff.
Originally scheduled for May 26, the runoff was delayed by Gov. Greg Abbott until July 14 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Dawson County, that runoff election will feature only two races. Mary “MJ” Hegar and Royce West are vying for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senator. Seeking the party nomination for Railroad Commissioner are Roberto R “Beto”Alonzo and Chrysta Castañeda.
Only those who voted in the Democratic Party primary election, or those who did not vote in any primary election, may vote in the Democratic runoff election.
