Monday is the last day to turn in the Summer Reading Club Blackout Bingo cards to the Dawson County Public Library. Those entered in the SRC will get extra entry forms for the grand prizes with those blacked out cards. Blackout cards turned in after the 6th do not get extra forms, but still receive special prizes.
While a cloud of dust from the Saharan Desert of Africa has been making news lately, it was a local cloud of dust kicked up by a thunderstorm that swept across Dawson County on Wednesday evening.
