Ron Mann’s team shot a 29 this past Wednesday but still needed some help from the tiebreaker to win this week’s golf scramble at the Lamesa Municipal Golf Course.
After already winning the District 8-1A high school boys’ track crown, the Sands Mustangs doubled up on the fun last Thursday at Ackerly by also winning the 8-1A junior high boys’ meet.
It was a big day for Lamesa High School senior Timothy Gonzalez (seated) and his family Monday morning. The soon-to-graduate signed a document notating his intentions of joining the U.S. Air Force once he obtains his diploma next month. His family, along with school staff and administrators, and (left) Staff Sgt. Calib Cumberworth were on hand to see him take the next step into a military career. Gonzalez will be headed to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio to begin basic training this summer.
