A previous proposal apparently is not going to work, but county officials are still pursuing multiple channels for dealing with what they say is an increasing number of complaints here about issues with heavy truck traffic.
Employees at Medical Arts Hospital prepare for a balloon launch on Tuesday afternoon to call attention to the designation of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month both nationwide and in Lamesa. Although high west winds forced the launch to be moved from the helipad to the east side of the hospital, the event went on as scheduled. Members of the Dawson County Child Welfare board also have created a display at the north intersection of Lynn and Dallas avenues to call attention to child abuse prevention.
Anyone wanting to handle any business with the City of Lamesa or Dawson County on Friday will have to wait until Monday.
