Stewardship Week puts attention on ‘One Water’

The Dawson County Soil & Water Conservation District has partnered with the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB) and the Association of Texas Soil & Water Conservation Districts to highlight Soil and Water Stewardship Week and the importance of voluntary land stewardship in Texas.

Lamesa Rotary Club members Bryan Nowlin and Carter Schildknecht presented Lamesa High School’s 2023 valedictorian Justin Peterson (center) with the Bob and Avis Wilton Rotary scholarship Wednesday. The $1,000 scholarship is renewable annually for four years. Peterson plans to attend Texas Tech University to major in civil engineering. Lamesa High School graduation is starts at 8 p.m. May 19 at Golden Tornado Stadium.
