County contacts attorney for tax abatement
County Judge Foy O’Brien on Tuesday told members of the Dawson County Commissioners Court that he has contacted an attorney to assist the county in handling a request for a tax abatement.
Pool may open Monday
City officials are not completely sure if the municipal swimming pool will be ready in time for its scheduled opening next week.
CNA GRADS
Howard College Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) students and their instructor celebrate the end of their classroom experience Wednesday. Irene Ubeda, Crystal Alvarez; teacher Bel Rodriguez, Jaleigh Gonzales, Ashley DeLosSantos and Debbie Gonzales recognized the end of weeks of classroom instruction before beginning 40 hours of clinical work in a Big Spring Center for Skilled Care in Big Spring. CNAs are required to do 100 hours of lectures and clinical work before graduating from the four-week program. The college’s next CNA class is scheduled for August or September. Students spend eight hours two or three days a week in the CNA program.
