DAMAGED GOODS
A piece of paper with the word, “damaged,” covers the slit opening of an outdoor mailbox at the post office notifying letter senders that it is no longer in service. A vandal reportedly damaged a side door two weeks ago. Postal workers unlock the door to retrieve dropped off mail. Workers are unable to securely lock the door. Drivers utilize the postal box to drop off their out-going mail without the need to go inside the post office building. It is not known when the mailbox will either be fixed or replaced.
School registration begins this week
With just a few more weeks before the start of the new school year, parents are registering their kids and school officials are preparing their classrooms.
