Dawson County commissioners July 25 were pleasantly pleased when they got the appraisal values that could result in decreasing the tax rate by three-cents.They got the numbers shortly before the start of their budget session. They will continue working on the 2023-2024 proposed budget and tax rate through the summer.Property values, tabulated by the Dawson County Appraisal District, showed they were up when compared to last year’s values. Last year, those values were $900,436,860 with a taxable value of $891,198,780, according to the appraisal district.
