After dropping four out of their past five outings going into last weekend’s District 3-A road trip at Muleshoe Golden Tor head baseball coach Steve Garcia didn’t shy away from the importance of Saturday’s game as as far as his squad’s playoff hopes were.
By coming back home Saturday evening from Muleshoe with an 8-1 win over the Mules, the Golden Tornado softballers are closer to their fourth straight District 3-3A championship.
Borden County’s District 4-1A softball champion Coyotes turned out being too much for the Ira Bulldogs this past Friday evening at Gail in their final two games of the regular season.
A handful of Golden Tornado track girls qualified for regionals after turning in strong showing at last Thursday’s area track meet at Denver City.
After a strong showing at their area track meet at Sundown both Klondike and Sands will be well represented this regional track meet at South Plains College at Levelland.
The O’Donnell Eagles and the Borden County Coyotes topped last Thursday’s area track meet at Borden County at Gail.
The Golden Tornadoes outscored their guests 4-1 in the final two innings here Tuesday evening at Joe Spikes Field but that wasn’t still enough as Brownfield went home with the 11-6 victory.
As frustrating as this past weekend was for the Golden Tornadoes’ softball team after falling 11-6 at Littlefield, it didn’t take them long to get back on the right track again.
