Borden County’s softball squad continued its drive for the District 4-1A championship last Saturday at Gail by shutting out the Westbrook Wildcats, 10-0. The game was stopped after five innings on the 10-run rule.
A gutsy pitching performance by junior Mason Bolton wasn’t enough Saturday as the O’Donnell Eagles were shut out by the Tahoka Bulldogs, 7-0.
Due to the high winds both local and area sluggers got unexpected evenings off Tuesday.
Winning both the 400 and 800-meter relays, the Klondike Cougars won the varsity girls division in last Thursday’s O’Donnell Screamin’ Eagle Relays.
The District 8-A Tennis Tournament is coming to town Monday starting at 9 a.m. at the Lamesa High School Tennis Courts.
For the second year, the Golden Tornadoes captured top bragging rights in both boys and girls singles at this week’s District 3-3A Tennis Tournament at Brownfield. Four of their players are now heading to regionals.
After sending 20 of their high school tennis players to regionals each of the past two seasons, 11 of which went on to finish their seasons at state, the Borden County Coyotes started that way again by dominating the District 6-A Tennis Tournament Wednesday.
The Golden Tors’ Zach Barron won both the seventh grade boys’ shot put and the discus at Thursday’s District 3-3A Junior High Boys’ Track Championships at Denver City.
