Lamesa’s Girls Fastpitch League is sending five girls softball squads to this week’s West Texas All-Star Tournament at Midland United Girls Softball Complex.Those entries include one team each in the 14-andunder, 12-and-under, and 10-and-under divisions, and two in the eight-and-under division.“We ended up getting so many girls signed up in that division (eight-year-old) that we decided to go ahead and take two teams this summer,” said Lamesa Girls Fastpitch President Joey Barron.The tournament begins at 9 a.m. Thursday, with an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. where all 78 of the teams will be introduced.
