A youth movement continues to lead the Golden Tornadoes’ golf program this season. Freshman Helen Vargas turned in the best day for the Lamesa golfers this past weekend in the annual Regional Preview at Lubbock’s Shadow Hills. Vargas shot a 115 on Friday and a 114 on Saturday for a two-day score of 229. Seniors Elaine Minjarez and Laura Ruvalcaba turned in the next best two rounds for the Lamesa High School golfers.
