The home team turned in a strong season-opening performance as Lamesa High School hosted its annual Golden Tornado Relays here last Friday.
Putting up a whopping 139 points, the Golden Tornado girls turned in a strong second place finish in the final team standings.
“We were narrowly edged out by Denver City which finished with 143.5 points,” Golden Tor Coach Rosemary McCall said.
“This was a very competitive meet for our girls. The quality of the competition was good, which gives us a picture of where our team is at this point of our season.
