The Lamesa High School Golden Tornadoes open their fall tennis season at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lubbock All Saints.
“They should be pretty good competition for us especially for our first match,” said Jose Lucio, a former Lamesa tennis player who is now in his third year as coach here.
“One of their girls won state in TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) while another one of their girls ended up getting third at state last year. One of their boys doubles teams also got third in the state last year.”
The Golden Tornadoes have 14 matches on their fall schedule.
