Tuesday’s District 3-3A girls softball match-up here at Joe Spikes Field between Lamesa and Brownfield was billed as a battle for league supremacy.
After a spotting their visitors an early lead, it didn’t take long to see who had the upper hand as the Golden Tors knocked off the Cubs, 8-1, to capture the 3-3A softball championship.
It is believed to be the Lamesa’s first ever league crown in softball, and a good crowd was on hand to help celebrate the victory.
