Junior Makayla Gonzales and sophomore Jocelyn Marroquin will be representing the Golden Tornadoes next Saturday in the regional power lifting championships at Monahans. Gonzales will be competing in the 198-pound weight class while Marroquin will be competing in the 105-pound weight class. “It feels great sending both girls to regionals next weekend. It seems like both girls are peaking at the right time,” Golden Tornado Coach Mario Gonzales said. “To me, getting to regionals in power lifting is equivalent to getting to the regional tournament in basketball.
