This year’s Golden Tornado baseball team is starting the season with lots of challenges.For starters there’s an obvious lack of experience, with senior Christian Ruiz, junior Luke Martinez and sophomore Rojelio Vela representing most of the experience from last year’s squad which went two rounds deep in the playoffs.Secondly, installing outfield turf and replacing the fencing at Joe Spikes Field has forced the Golden Tors to spend most of their practice time on the junior high football field.Then of course there’s the crazy West Texas weather, where the temperature can be in the 60s or 70s one day and down ...
