Tennis is returning to the Lamesa High School sports lineup this spring after an absence of almost a decade.
School officials announced earlier this month that they would be implementing tennis for the spring semester, with Michael Munoz as the coach.
“It’s something we’ve been looking at,” Athletic Director Gregg Moreland said.
“We felt like it would be a good opportunity to get other kids involved in athletics.”
Munoz said 23 students, along with a number of parents, attended an evening meeting held at the high school earlier this month to provide information about the program.
Since then, additional students have expressed an interest.
