A strong start turned out being just enough for Borden County’s basketball girls last Friday night at Brownfield. The stateranked Coyotes held off the tradition rich Whitharral Panthers, 62-59, in the area round of the Class 1A state playoffs.Whitharral, which finished 25-5, was ranked tenth in last week’s Class 1A state poll.
