Lamesa High School’s Bryan Quinteros likely will never forget his first powerlifting meet.
“I started power lifting my sophomore year. I ended up getting DQ’d (disqualified) that day after missing out on all three of my bench presses,” Quinteros said.
He definitely will not forget his last meet, either. Not many times do you win a state championship, especially in a state as big as Texas.
Quinteros did just that last Saturday at Abilene’s Expo Center. A year after he came home a state runner-up, he won all the marbles in the 123-pound weight class.
