Lamesa’s young sluggers came up short, as far as the ultimate prize was concerned, but from the look of things help is still very much on the way as far as the future of Golden Tornado baseball is concerned.
Lamesa’s 12-and-under Cal Ripken baseball all-stars won two out of their first three games in that district tournament held here at Bill Weaver Youth Sports Complex, before falling just short of advancing on after losing their fourth game in that tourney to Andrews, 16-6.
The 12-and-under all-stars opened up the tournament last Friday evening by knocking off Andrews, 5-3.
