Lamesa’s seventh graders kicked off their football careers in impressive fashion Thursday evening at Sweet-water where they blanked the Mustangs, 24-0.
“Our guys did a good job in all aspects of the game,” Coach Zach Leonard said. “Our kids really did a great job for their first junior high game.
“We created turnovers, turning three of them into scores.”
Francisco Sosa scored two of Lamesa’s three touchdowns on runs from 10 and one yard out. Sosa also punched in a pair of two-point conversions.
Hector Zamora also scored a touchdown on a 40-yard run and then scored the two-point conversion.
