The Sands Mustangs enjoyed a clean sweep on the hardwoods Tuesday night at Hermleigh.After battling each other on fairly even ground in the first half the Sands girls took control in the second half to capture a 72-52 victory.“Hopefully putting up 72 points on the number-four team in the state tells us that we’re finally starting to get everything going,” Sands Coach Ben Connell said.After being up 36-31 at the half, the Mustang girls outscored the Cardinals, 36-21, in the final two quarters.Elyssa Martinez had 34 points and Hayley Connell had 11 to lead Sands.
