Sands High School has its annual sports’ banquet Thursday evening at Ackerly. Following last weekend’s state track meet, there’s a good chance that banquet might take a little longer than usual. The Mustangs made the 320-mile trip back home from Austin not only with the overall Class 1A girls state title but also with firstplace finishes in both the girls and boys 1,600 meter relays and the girls 800-meter relay.
