Ranked number one in the state in Class 1A, the Sands High School girls basketball team showed they certainly are worthy of the ranking as they rolled past sixth-ranked Borden County, 52-24, Friday evening at Gail.The Mustangs are now 22-5 on the year and 3-0 in league play. Borden County is 18-7 overall and 2-1 in district.The game was never much in doubt, as the Mustangs scored the first 11 points of the game and opened up a 30-18 halftime advantage.“Once again our girls played outstanding team defense.
