The Sands Mustangs enjoyed a clean sweep on the hardwoods Friday evening at Ackerly. The Mustang girls continued their tough non-district schedule by knocking off Class 6A Odessa High, 40-23. Sands, now 4-1, owned a 20-10 halftime lead and were up 33-14 after three stanzas of play. “Our girls continue to play great defense,” Coach Ben Connell said. “Right now, our defense is carrying us. Anytime you can hold somebody to only 23 points then you know your defense did its job.
