The Sands girls basketball team secured a spot in the Class 1A state playoffs with a 42-31 win at Grady on Friday evening. “As you can tell by the score the kids played really tough,” Sands Coach Ben Connell said after the game. “We had a really good fourth quarter. They (Grady) could have tied it but we played through it.” The win improved the Lady Stang’s season record to 22-3 and their district slate to 5-1.
