Sands bowlers fare well in Special Olympics competition

Zack Grumbles’ dad Billy is a successful basketball coach at Sands High School and now this Mustang senior is part of a different team at Ackerly which is finding success.Grumbles, along with Sands freshman Jesse Tarin and fifth grader Izaiah Gomez, participated in the Area 17 Special Olympics Bowling Competition last Saturday at Lubbock’s South Plains Lanes. Grumbles and Tarin won first place in their division, which is determined by age and abilities.
