The Sands girls and Borden County boys captured top honors in the Sands basketball tournament that wrapped up this past Saturday at Ackerly. The Lady ‘Stangs improved their season record to 15-1 with a 52-39 win over Westbrook in the championship game of that tournament. The Lady ‘Stangs led 27-21 at halftime of that game. Landry Morrow was Sands’ top scorer with 20 points, followed by Me-A Gonzales with 16, Lili Porras with seven, Alexis Gonzales with four, Kaylee French with three and Lakyn Smith with two.
