After winning a playoff at last month’s Region I-1A Golf Tournament, Sands junior Lakyn Sandlin finished among the top girls in the state at this week.
Sandlin placed 12th out of 130 girls in the Class 1A State Girls Golf Tournament which started Monday at Kingsland’s Lighthouse Golf Course.
Sandlin shot a 106 Monday and then a 57 Tuesday for a two-day score of 163. Due to bad weather, Tuesday’s play was shortened to only nine holes.
