The Sands Mustangs climbed from tenth to seventh in this week’s Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ Class 1A girls’ state basketball poll. In last weekend’s Highland Tournament, Coach Ben Connell’s Mustangs more than looked worthy of that promotion. “Our girls continue working hard. They keep trying to get better as they go,” Connell said. “Our girls are very coachable.
