After finishing his high school athletic career with a bang last month at the University Interscholastic League Class 1A State Track & Field Championships, Sands’ state champion runner Wiley Gaskins isn’t finished yet.Last week, Gaskins told the Lamesa Press-Reporter that he’s going to continue running on the collegiate level at West Texas A&M University at Canyon.“I love the atmosphere up there. Like, I told my parents after I visited up there, it (Canyon) is a lot bigger than Ackerly, but it still reminds me of another small town,” Gaskins said.Like Gaskins, West Texas A&M’s track program is a proven winner.
