The District 3-3A gridiron race kicks off next week and for right about 40 minutes here Friday night against Monahans the Golden Tornadoes looked like a definite contender.
The tradition-rich Monahans Loboes did most of their damage in the first five minutes and 45 seconds of the second half as they quickly increased a one-point halftime lead to a 15-point difference. The Loboes scored a rather meaningless late fourth quarter touchdown before going home with the 29-8 victory.
