Lamesa High School’s Golden Tornado softball team picked a good time to put on an overwhelming offensive showing at the plate.
Opening the playoffs on Friday evening at Lubbock against Borger, the Golden Tornadoes knocked three balls out of the park and did not record a single strikeout en route to a 17-0 victory.
And that was in only four innings at the plate, as the game was stopped on the run rule before Lamesa came up to bat in the bottom half of the fifth inning.
