Borden County’s softball squad has finished two out of the past three seasons at the state tournament.
After shutting out 10thranked Claude, 10-0, Monday evening at Plainview, the Coyotes are narrowing in on making a return trip to Austin’s McCombs Field.
“We had good timely hitting and good base running tonight,” BC Coach Rusty Rainbolt said shortly after Monday’s Class 1A area playoff victory.
Now 12-3 this season, the Coyotes will be looking to continue their dream at 7 p.m. Thursday at Lamesa’s Joe Spikes Field when they’ll take on No. 1 stateranked and 15-1 Hermleigh in the regional semi-finals.
