The Sands Mustangs continued their quest for their first District 8-1A girls’ hoop crown in 11 years Monday night at Lenorah where they defeated the Grady Wildcats, 38-23, in a Top 10 match-up. In this week’s Class 1A state poll, Grady is ranked sixth and Sands is eighth. After trailing 5-4 at the end of the first quarter, Sands went up 12-7 at the half. The Mustangs went on to outscore the Wildcats 11-7 in the third quarter and 15-8 in the fourth quarter.
