The Sands Mustangs weren’t all hospitable to the Dawson Dragons in their District 6-1A basketball doubleheader last Friday out at Ackerly.Last Friday’s girls game saw the Mustangs nearly shut out the Dragons, 40-1.“Defensively from a standpoint, the girls did a good job of executing what we wanted to, which helped us create a lot of turnovers. Offensively, we started out a little sluggish until we got some things figured out,” Sands Coach Brennon Fowler said. “What helps us play good defense is having guards who are quick and lanky.
