Sands has one of the most respected high school cross country programs in the state, with both their boys and girls teams ranked among the top five in the state.
From the look of things, the Mustangs may be staying at the front of the pack for years to come.
The District 8-1A junior high cross county meet was held this past Monday at Lamesa’s Forrest Park. Sands’ boys were crowned the junior high champs while the Mustang girls tied for first with Grady but wound up in second after the tie-breaker.
