Sands’ state-ranked girls hoop squad didn’t waste much time Friday night at Ackerly running into District 7-1A’s throne room. Klondike’s upset win over No. 18 Borden County Friday at Cougar Gymnasium narrowed Sands’ magic number down to only one and the No. 5 Mustangs got that in a big way by thumping Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy, 66-2. The Mustangs were up 48-2 at the half.
