Six area schools were represented and approximately 65 students competed, but local athletes still shined during a recent Special Olympics Field and Track Meet that was hosted by the Tahoka Bulldogs in Tahoka.
“Once again, Lamesa was very well represented in this meet,” said Pam Koehler, who along with daughter, Kara Koehler, are certified Special Olympic coaches for the Special Golden Tornadoes.
Helping serve as sponsors for the group of special athletes are Lisa Rocha, Perla Lira, Veronica Parks, Stephanie Stevens, Stacy Stewart, Elvia Cortez and Sabina Escabedo.
