The Lamesa Golden Tornadoes opened District 3-4A boys basketball action here on Friday night with a hard-fought 43-36 win over Hereford.
Lamesa jumped out to a 16-7 lead at the end of the first quarter but led by just two points, 15-23, at the half after Hereford hit a three-pointer just before the buzzer.
The Golden Tornadoes pulled off the win at Follis Gymnasium by outscoring their visitors 11-7 in the third quarter and 7-6 in the fourth.
